Expert analysis suggests that the JEE Main 2026 cutoff across all categories may see a rise, with the general category cutoff likely to cross the 93.5 percentile mark, indicating increasing competition among aspirants. The Session 2 exam was conducted from April 2 to April 8, 2026, and the result is expected on April 20, 2026. Based on recent trends and a growing number of applicants, qualifying percentiles across categories are expected to increase.

The cutoff is determined by the National Testing Agency using a normalization process to ensure fairness across multiple shifts. Experts estimate that this trend may correspond to approximately 100–120 marks out of 300 for the general category, although final scores may vary due to percentile normalization.
