What Skills Does JEE Advanced AAT Test?

The AAT measures the design sense of candidates seeking BArch admission at the IITs. The paper runs for three hours and is conducted in pen-and-paper mode at the IIT zonal centres.

The test paper checks the following abilities of candidates:

  • Freehand drawing and proportion sense
  • Geometrical drawing and visualisation
  • Three-dimensional perception and imagination
  • Architectural awareness and aesthetic sensitivity

How to Download the JEE Advanced AAT 2026 Scorecard?

Candidates can use the steps below to access the result on June 7. The portal needs the same login details used during AAT registration.

  1. Visit the official JEE Advanced website at jeeadv.ac.in.
  2. Click on the AAT 2026 result link on the homepage.
  3. Enter the registration number, date of birth and mobile number.
  4. Submit the details to view the PASS or FAIL status.
  5. Download the scorecard and save a printed copy for records.

Who Is Eligible for BArch Seats Through AAT?

Only JEE Advanced 2026 qualifiers were allowed to register for AAT. Those declared PASS in AAT 2026 become eligible for BArch admission at three IITs.

  • IIT Roorkee
  • IIT Kharagpur
  • IIT (BHU) Varanasi

What Happens After the AAT 2026 Result?

Qualified candidates must fill BArch as a choice on the JoSAA 2026 portal. JoSAA runs the joint counselling for all IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

Seat allotment will take place over multiple rounds based on JEE Advanced ranks. Reporting and fee payment will follow each allotment round on the JoSAA portal.

Why This Matters

AAT is the only route to a BArch seat at an IIT. JEE Main Paper 2 scores are not accepted for IIT architecture admissions. A PASS in AAT is mandatory for JoSAA counselling for these seats.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to jeeadv.ac.in at 5 PM on June 7 to check status.
  2. Download and save the AAT 2026 scorecard right away.
  3. If declared PASS, fill BArch choices on the JoSAA portal during counselling.
  4. Keep your JEE Advanced registration number and date of birth ready.
  5. Track JoSAA seat allotment rounds for the three BArch-offering IITs.
