The Supreme Court of India has given permission for a Third Attempt to eligible candidates who first appeared for their Class 12 exam in 2023 and withdrew from the courses between Nov 5 to Nov 18, 2024.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India recently granted candidates a third opportunity to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025. This decision comes after the court’s order dated January 10, 2025, in response to Writ Petition (Civil) Nos. 854/2024 and 17/2025. Eligible candidates who first appeared for their Class 12 examination in 2023 and withdrew from their academic courses between November 5, 2024, and November 18, 2024, can now register for JEE Advanced 2025.

  • Candidates must have appeared for their Class 12 examination for the first time in 2023.
  • They must have withdrawn from their enrolled courses and officially dropped out between November 5, 2024, and November 18, 2024.
  • Candidates are required to satisfy all other eligibility criteria outlined in Clause 11 of the JEE Advanced 2025 Information Brochure.

Mandatory Documents for Registration

Important Considerations

  • Candidates must ensure the authenticity of all submitted documents. If any information or documents are found to be incorrect or forged at any stage, the candidate’s registration will be canceled immediately, and legal actions may be initiated.
  • All eligible candidates are advised to refer to Annexure VI of the official brochure for detailed guidelines and document submission formats.

Implications of the Supreme Court’s Decision

This is likely to give a just chance to students who have withdrawn their courses because of unseen incidents. The Supreme Court confirms its commitment to providing justice and opportunities by granting a third chance.
