IIT Kanpur has conducted the JEE Advanced 2025 exam today, May 18, 2025. The exam was held in two shifts: Paper 1 from 9 AM to 12 Noon and Paper 2 from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM. Based on initial reaction, Paper 2 was tougher and lengthier than Paper 1. The Paper 1 exam was moderately difficult. This year, the number of questions was reduced to 48 with 16 questions in each section.
The official JEE Advanced 2025 Question Paper is available on the official website – jeeadv.ac.in. The questions paper PDFs are out for Paper 1 and Paper 2 in English and Hindi.
Candidates have to carry a printed copy of the JEE Advanced Admit Card and a valid original photo ID to the exam center. The Shift 1 reporting started at 7 AM. The reporting for Shift 2 is open from 1.30 PM to 2 PM.

This year, JEE Advanced admit card 2025 has been released on May 12, 2025 at 10 AM on the official website – jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates must log in using their application number, date of birth, and mobile number to access the JEE Advanced admit card.

JEE Advanced 2025 Dress Code
Candidates are advised to follow the JEE Advanced dress code to ensure fairness in the exam and avoid any scope of unfair practices.
- Do not wear charm/taweez, items containing metals such as ring, bracelet, earrings, nose pin, chain/necklace, pendant, badge, or brooch.
- Female candidates must wear light and breathable kurti with jeans or leggings.
- For male candidates, half sleeves t-shirt, and pants without pockets are recommended.
- Clothes with big buttons are strictly prohibited to wear.
- Wear only open footwear like chappals and sandals.

- A printout JEE Advanced admit card, preferably in color.

- Use 5 minutes to read the paper, 50-55 minutes to solve each subject, and keep 15-20 minutes to solve unanswered questions or for revision.
- DO NOT GET STUCK ON One QUESTION!
- Avoid wild guesses as there is negative marking. Make educated guess only.
- If you’re sure of some options in multi-correct questions, attempt them for partial marking.
- JEE Advanced questions are generally conceptually based. So, one must revise the concepts and short cut methods to attain 99% accuracy or perfection.
- For getting a good score in JEE Advanced, students must focus on their analytical and reasoning ability to solve the question.

Candidates have to appear for two compulsory papers in JEE Advanced 2025 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Each paper is for 3 hours. Paper 1 and 2 consists of three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
