IMI interview calls for 2026 admissions are rolling out across campuses, leaving many low-percentile candidates surprised.

International Management Institute (IMI) has started releasing PI–WAT–GDPI interview calls for 2026 MBA admissions across its Delhi, Kolkata, and Bhubaneswar campuses. The calls are being shared in phases and batches through email and WhatsApp, according to multiple student reports.
Several candidates with moderate CAT and XAT percentiles have also received invites, creating confusion about cut-offs and selection criteria. Interviews for some applicants are scheduled for late January and early February 2026.
Are IMI Calls Really Out For All Three Campuses?
Yes. As per candidate discussions online, all three campuses- IMI Delhi, IMI Kolkata, and IMI Bhubaneswar- have begun issuing interview calls. Many aspirants reported that:
- Calls are not released at once
- Emails are coming in batches
- Some students first receive WhatsApp notification, then mail
- Even 60–70 percentile candidates are getting interview invites
This indicates that IMI may be using a profile-based shortlisting process, not just strict percentile cut-offs. Based on student updates:
- Calls started: January 27, 2026
- Interview dates: First week of February 2026 onwards
- Mode: GDPI-WAT (offline/online depending on campus)
Candidates are advised to check mail and spam folders regularly.

Why Are Low Percentile Candidates Getting Interview Calls?
Several students with around 60–70 percentile in CAT/XAT shared that they still received PI calls. This suggests IMI might be considering:
- Academic profile (10th/12th/Graduation)
- Gender diversity
- Work experience
- Overall profile strength
For example, one candidate with 7/9/9 academics and 60 percentile CAT reported receiving a Bhubaneswar interview call.
This has raised questions about cut-off transparency, but also gives hope to many repeaters and profile-based applicants.
Should Candidates Attend the IMI Interview?
Education experts suggest that students should attend the interview if they receive a call, because:
- It gives real GDPI experience
- Helps understand B-school interview process
- Builds confidence for future exams like CAT 2026
- IMI Delhi is still considered a reputed Tier-2 private B-school
However, repeaters focusing on top IIMs or Tier-1 colleges may treat it as practice rather than final conversion. After interviews, IMI will announce:
- Final shortlist
- Offer letters
- Fee payment deadlines
- Document verification
Candidates should keep documents like scorecards, academic certificates, ID proof, and work experience letters ready for the next stage.
