IIT Tirupati M.Tech and MPP Program Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati Masters in Technology and Master in Public Policy program, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria listed below:
M.Tech Program Eligibility
For GATE-qualified candidates
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, or a master's degree in a relevant area, as listed in Table A below, from an AICTE/government-approved educational institution.
- Candidates must have passed GATE 2025, 2024, or 2023 in an appropriate GATE paper, as shown in Table A below.
- Candidates who have yet to appear or have previously appeared in the final examination for the qualifying degree specified below and are expected to fulfill the qualifying degree requirements by July 2025.
For IIT Graduates
- Candidates who have graduated from IITs with a B.Tech. degree in a relevant discipline are included in the table below (Table A).
- Candidates must have a CGPA of 8.0 (7.5 for SC/ST) on a scale of 10.0 or higher in their B.Tech. degree.
MPP Program Eligibility
- Candidates who have previously acquired or are expected to obtain a Bachelor's degree (after 10+2) or equivalent in any subject from a recognized university or institute may apply for admission to the Institute's MPP programme.
- For General/OBC/EWS category candidates, at least 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) are required in the qualifying degree, while SC/ST and PwD category candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks.
IIT Tirupati M.Tech and MPP Program Documents Required
Candidates must submit the following documents at the time of admission to the IIT Tirupati M.Tech and MPP Program:
- Application copy and admission offer.
- Birth certificate, SSC, or SSLC certificate as proof of name and date of birth.
- Any legitimate government ID proof, such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driver's license, etc.
- Degree certificates / Provisionals / Course completion certificates / Grade Cards / Marksheets for all degrees earned.
- The Competent Authority will provide a Community Certificate to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates in the specified GoI format.
- Authorized Doctor's Certificate with disability descriptions for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates.
- Copy of the valid GATE score (if applicable).
Please keep in mind that all of the above credentials must be presented in their original form during the physical verification process. If a candidate wants to apply for more than one stream, he or she must fill out a new application and pay for each stream separately.
