The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has invited applications for its Ph.D., Dual Degree, and M.Tech programs for the academic year 2025. Interested candidates should submit their applications by April 30, 2025. Candidates are required to submit a new application for each program they apply for.

IIT Mandi Ph.D., Dual Degree, and M.Tech. Program Eligibility Criteria

To apply for IIT Mandi's Ph.D., Dual Degree, and M.Tech. programs, candidates must meet the prerequisites listed below.

Program	Eligibility
For Ph.D. Full-Time Research Scholars	A master's degree in science, engineering, or technology, with a strong academic record. Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology from any CFTI with a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a 10-point scale.
For Ph.D. Part-Time Research Scholars	Institute staff members, research scholars under QIP, research researchers under external registration, and research scholars working part-time. Individuals working in research and development environments in scientific institutions (such as IIT Mandi) or industry. Faculty members from all Engineering Colleges/Universities accredited by the relevant government organizations. The required qualifications are the same as for normal candidates, with the exception of passing one of the national admission tests. Furthermore, the candidate should have at least two years of professional experience.
For M.Tech. (Research) Full-Time Research Scholars	Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master's Degree in the relevant sciences. A valid GATE score is necessary for admission to the M. Tech. (by research) programme. Candidates having B.Tech./BE degrees from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) must have a minimum CGPA of 7.5 on a 10.0 point scale (or equivalent). (National level examinations are waived off for the HTRA Scholarship) B.Tech./BE (or equivalent) degree from any Himachal Pradesh government institute or university with a CGPA/GPI of at least 7.5 (out of 10) or equivalent.
For M.Tech. (Research) Part-Time Research Scholars	Institute staff members/research scholars under external registration/research scholars working part-time. Individuals working in R&D environments in scientific institutions (like IIT Mandi) or industries. Faculty members from all Engineering Colleges/Universities accredited by the relevant government organizations.
Degree M.Tech. (Research) + Ph.D. Full-Time Research Scholars	The candidate must possess a BE/B.Tech, M.Sc., or equivalent Degree with a valid GATE Score. GATE Score is waived off for those with B.Tech/BE degree from CFTI with CGPA >=8.

The application cost for enrolling in the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi M.Tech and PhD programs is as follows:
