The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) at IIT Mandi has officially announced the applications for the MA in Development Studies Program for the academic year 2026-2028. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website or the link provided below till March 12, 2026.

“The M.A. in Development Studies also offers candidates (fulfilling certain criteria, while pursuing their M.A. in Development Studies) to apply for an M.A.+ Ph.D. Dual Degree at IIT Mandi,” the institute stated.

IIT Mandi MA Development Studies Admission Dates 2026

Applicants have to pay the application fee of INR 200 for candidates belonging to the General, EWS, OBC, OBC (NCL), Transgender, and Foreign Nationals categories. While Women, SC, ST, and PwD categories have to pay INR 200.

IIT Mandi MA Development Studies Eligibility Criteria

For admission to the IIT Mandi MA Development Studies program, a candidate should hold 3-4 year Bachelor Degree (B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Tech./ B.E. or equivalent), after 10+2 or equivalent schooling, from a recognized University or Institute with at least 55% marks (a minimum of 50% marks for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD candidates), are eligible to apply for admission to the Program. Candidates in their final year can also apply.

According to the official website, the list of shortlisted candidates will be declared on the IIT Mandi website. The admission process includes a written test or an interview. Also, there are possibilities of conversion or admission to an integrated PhD program if a candidate fulfills the requirements.
