The fellowship can be done during the Institute vacation period, i.e., from March 13, 2026 (Wednesday) to July 13, 2026 (Monday)
IIT Delhi has announced the Summer Research Fellowship Program (SRFP) 2026. This prestigious initiative offers exceptionally qualified undergraduate and postgraduate students from across India (excluding IIT Delhi students) the chance to work on innovative research projects under the guidance of world-class faculty.
The fellowship is designed to foster research talent and provide a comprehensive support package for selected candidates:
- Duration: The research work spans 8 weeks during the summer vacation.
- Stipend: A fellowship of Rs. 2,000 per week.
- Travel: Reimbursement for Train-Sleeper class travel to and from IIT Delhi.
- Accommodation: Free boarding and lodging in the Institute's hostels.
- Fees: Selected students are registered as visiting students and are exempt from registration fees.
The program is highly competitive and is open to students who meet the following requirements: Undergraduate Students: Must have completed at least 2 years of study in an engineering degree and be among the top 10 rank holders in their respective branch. M.Tech/M.E. Students: Must have completed at least the 1st Semester with a minimum of 70% marks (or 7.00 CGPA) and be among the top 10 rank holders.
