IIT JAM 2026 Counseling and Admissions
For the thousands of graduates who have qualified, the next phase involves the admission cum counselling process of IITM JAM 2026.
- For IITs: Candidates must submit an Admission Form via the JOAPS portal, typically starting in the second week of April. Applicants can list their preferences for programs across all 21 IITs.
- For NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs: These institutes do not participate in the JOAPS counseling. Instead, they conduct admissions through the CCMN (Centralized Counselling for M.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech)) portal. The CCMN 2026 notification is expected to be released in May.
"The JAM 2026 score remains valid for only one year," a senior official from the GATE-JAM office at IIT Bombay stated. "Candidates are advised to keep their original documents ready, including category certificates and final semester mark sheets, to ensure a smooth transition during the document verification stage."
With the results now out, the focus shifts to the opening and closing ranks of top institutes like IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Madras, where competition for core sciences remains historically high.
Candidates are advised to check the official website of IIT JAM (@jam2026.iitb.ac.in) and collegedunia.com for the latest updates.
