IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli embark on a unique Joint Admission Process (JAP 2026), aimed to reduce the complexity of the application process and provide transparency to the admission process.

IIM JAP Notice

In a first-of-its kind and landmark initiative to revolutionize the experience of prospective MBA students applying to an IIM, four Indian Institutes of Management - IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli - introduced a Joint Admission Process (referred to as JAP) in some effort for the 2026 academic year.

Hosted by IIM Raipur, JAP will allow interested candidates to apply through a single application process, rather than the long traditional multi-stage application procedure.

IIM Raipur hosts Jap 2026

IIM Raipur has been chosen as the host institution for JAP 2026, as a coordinated effort of a few select IIMs to demonstrate removal of redundancies in the application processes. IIM JAP 2026 aims to offer consistency with a candidate-centric/prospects to audit internal procedures across four institutions simultaneously with a shared enterprise value.

Professor Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-Charge, IIM Raipur, clarified the bigger picture under the move - “JAP 2026 reflects our dedication to maintaining high standards and opening new opportunities for aspiring MBA candidates.”

What Does IIM JAP 2026 Mean for Applicants?

JAP 2026 represents a major change in the process of admission to MBA programs at the 4 IIMs. Traditionally, students had to fill out separate applications, meet separate eligibility criteria, and go through separate interviews for each institute. This now changes, under JAP 2026.

After receiving CAT results, candidates will go through a single selection procedure for all four IIMs—namely Raipur, Kashipur, Ranchi and Tiruchirappalli. The same standards will be applied to assess student suitability, in all four institutes, making the process more equitable and transparent.

While each IIM will make its own final admission selections, the process is streamlined for students; the IIMs can retain independence as graduate schools.
