New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur has successfully concluded its 7th convocation held at Paonta Sahib, where a total of 288 students received their degrees.
A total of 50 IIM Sirmaur students received an MBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management degree, whereas 238 General MBA students were conferred MBA degrees.
The Chief Guest during the convocation ceremony was Naina Lal Kidwai, senior adviser at Advent Private Equity and chairman of Rothschild India.
The students were presented with their MBA degrees by Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIM-Sirmaur and Chairman and Senior Managing Director of DCM Shriram Ltd. Rohit Dadheech was awarded the chairman's gold medal for his MBA degree, while Debahuti Deo was awarded with the director's medal.
Rahul Ranjan and Chhavi Bansal both received honours for their expertise in the fields of finance and marketing, while Gaurav Sonawane won the prize for the greatest overall performance.
Furthermore, Akanksha Gupta won a gold medal for her MBA in Tourism & Hospitality, and Mragendra Singh Bais was given a special commendation award.
Meanwhile, Kidwai underlined the value of lifelong learning, embracing change, and maintaining a current way of thinking in her virtual address. She also counselled the students to be creative and learn from their mistakes.
