IIM Sambalpur to launch drone centre of excellence with IG Drones

New Delhi: IIM Sambalpur has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IG Drones, a company specializing in Drone Tech and Analytics. This collaboration aims to explore advanced applications of drone technology in areas such as Business Analytics, Management Strategies, and Public Policy.

IIM Sambalpur and IG Drones agreement was formalised during the 100-Cube Start-up Conclave held at IIM-Sambalpur, with backing from the Ministry of Education. The event was overseen by Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

As per the agreement, IG Drones will establish a drone center of excellence at the IIM Sambalpur and Delhi Campus. This center will function as a focal point for research, innovation, and entrepreneurial activities within the realm of drone technology.

The MoU will primarily focus on exploring advanced applications of drone technology in areas such as Business Analytics, Management Strategies, and Public Policy.

Furthermore, IG Drones has set up more than 15 Centers of Excellence throughout India and aims to establish 1000 such centers to equip the youth of India with cutting-edge drone technology.

The company has strategically partnered with numerous state governments, over 100 Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and prominent Multinational Corporations (MNCs) to provide a wide array of drone-related services.

Expressing his delight in signing the MoU and collaborating with IG Drones, Dr. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur said that IG Drones is a prominent drone technology company, for exploring advanced applications of drone technology in business analytics, management strategies, and public policy governance.
