New Delhi: The 7th Leadership Summit organized by the IIM Raipur concluded its two-day event, welcoming distinguished corporate figures and industry experts from diverse sectors. The second day maintained the event's grandeur and energy, creating a platform for insightful discussions and the exchange of knowledge.

During the second day of the IIM Raipur summit, compelling panel discussions took place, focused on the theme "Enhancing Identity for Indian Business and Leadership." The event gathered esteemed corporate leaders, scholars, and industry experts who generously shared their invaluable insights on various aspects of Indian business and leadership.

The day started with a warm welcome by Girish Pahadiya, Corporate Relations Officer at IIM Raipur, who greeted the esteemed guests.

Panel Discussions at the IIM Raipur 7th Leadership Summit

The initial panel discussion, themed "Globalizing Indian Business through the Local Workforce," was led by Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Marketing Professor at IIM Raipur. 

The panelists discussed vital subjects, including India's economic progress pre and post-pandemic, along with an examination of Indian sociology. Key highlights from the discussion involved:

  • Chetan Hingu, AMD's Country Head (Inside Sales), highlighted India's requirement to adopt diverse cultures and effectively expand its business globally.
  • Pankaj Jain, a Director at PwC, emphasized the significance of acquiring fresh skills and methodologies to sustain competitiveness.
  • Pawan Kumar, Executive Director at SAIL, talked about India's rise on the international platform and the necessity to broaden its export foundation.
  • Chhitiz Kumar, Philips' Vice President of Health Systems, highlighted the importance of strategic thinking, leadership, soft skills, and the value of embracing diversity.

The second discussion, guided by Professor Parthasarathi Banerjee, Distinguished Professor of Strategic Management at IIM Raipur, centered on "Grasping the Indian Competitive Edge for the Future." It featured insights from:

  • Anand Subbiah, CMO at Qualcomm India, emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency among future leaders and government incentives for India's manufacturing sector.
  • Ms. Deepali Naair, CMO at CK Birla Group, explored India's strengths and weaknesses across multiple sectors, focusing on manufacturing and automotive expertise.
  • Shri Sreenivas V, COO at Collabera Digital, commended India's achievements in the IT industry and highlighted the significance of execution and skill development.
  • Prashant Dhariwal, Managing Director at Vaamaa Dairy, highlighted India's resilience and adaptability by illustrating the 'jugaad' approach to problem-solving.

The final panel discussion, guided by Prof. S. Ram Kumar, Professor of Practice Marketing at IIM Raipur, focused on "Enhancing Financial Inclusion and the Fintech Revolution in India." Noteworthy insights included:

  • Monica Jasuja, a Fintech Product Strategy Consultant, highlighted the significance of financial inclusion and the influence of social media on shaping India's global presence.
  • Shinoj Koshy, Partner at Luthra and Luthra, stressed the empowerment potential of technology and emphasized the importance of data security.
  • Antra Bhargava, Growth Leader and Impact Changer, discussed technology's role in narrowing financial inclusion gaps and advocated for equitable solutions in the financial sector.

The final session of the Leadership Summit welcomed Major General (Dr) P Vivekanandan (Retd.) as the guest speaker, who shared insights on "Leadership in Defence and Public Administration." 

Professor Rashmi Shukla, Chairperson of Placements at IIM Raipur, warmly introduced Major General Vivekanandan and highlighted India's five principles and leadership values from the armed forces.

The summit concluded with the Director's outlook on the future and a sincere closing message from Professor Rashmi Shukla, recognizing the diligent work of committees, teams, and student volunteers who contributed to the event's success.
