New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has collaborated with Birmingham City University (BCU) and Ronkel Media Education and Research Institute to offer a special lecture as part of the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) Batch B3 elective course "Bringing Humanities and Innovation Management and Creative Entrepreneurial Leadership”. The lecture was sucessfully organised on May 27, 2024.
This groundbreaking course is offered jointly by Prof. Mrunal Chavda, Asst. Professor Humanities and Liberal Arts, IIM Raipur and Prof. Shishank, BCU, marking a significant collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.
As per IIM Raipur, “distinguished team of professors has arrived for the campus immersion program, ready to engage with students and faculty through a series of interactive sessions and collaborative learning experiences. This initiative reflects the commitment of both BCU and IIM Raipur to provide a holistic educational experience that prepares future leaders for the challenges of global business. Both institutions will aim to catalyze industry-academia partnerships that will allow academia and industry to work in sync, prepare a work-ready workforce, reduce on-the-job training costs, and make learners more employable”.
Key Highlights of Special Lecture Deliverd by Sara Gracy, BCU
The lecture was delivered by Sara Gracy, who is a Senior Lecturer in Leadership and Human Resource Management at BCU. Students who attended the lecture interacted with Sara Gracy, Prof. Shishak, Prof. Navjot Sandhu, and leading professors from Birmingham City University.
The special lecture covers the concept of dynamic relationships between organisation and leadership behaviour as well as the importance of diversity equality and inclusion in the public sector. In addition to this, participants gained insights into applications of innovative leadership principles that are helpful for creative and cultural industries.
Sara Gracy from BCU is well known for her expertise in supervisory leadership and its influence on workplace behaviour. During the lecture, she covered the integration of the humanities with innovation management to cultivate creative entrepreneurial leaders.
About IIM Raipur and BCU EPGP Elective Course
The EPGP in Management elective course is a result of a joint research grant funded by the British Council (India) to IIM Raipur and Birmingham City University. This grant aims to support industry-academic collaboration for a more joined-up approach, leading to excellence in higher education, a work-ready workforce, and quality research outputs for the benefit of both industry and academia.
The course is designed to cover the gap between traditional management and the human-centric approach required to thrive in the modern, innovation-driven business environment. It offers participants the required skills to cover the difficulties and issues of international management and foster an encouraging and innovative environment. With this, both institutes aim to create a work-ready workforce, reduce on-the-job training costs, and make learners more employable.
