IIM Nagpur has organized a collaborative research with its inaugural symposium. With the theme "Redefining Research in Amrit Kaal: Golden Opportunities," this event marks a significant milestone in collaborative research initiatives.

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur hosted its inaugural Symposium on November 24, 2023. With the theme "Redefining Research in Amrit Kaal: Golden Opportunities," the Symposium was a notable milestone in collaborative research initiatives.
IIM Nagpur conducted the event in collaboration with AIIMS Nagpur, MLNU Nagpur, and IIIT Nagpur, uniting four eminent institutions of National Importance in Nagpur and sharing a collective vision to shape the future of research.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur Faculty, extended the welcome address and introduced the Symposium. Dr. Metri underscored the significance of collaborative efforts among institutions in contributing to societal progress, aligning with the objectives outlined in the National Education Policy 2020.
The event recorded the presence of distinguished dignitaries, each presenting unique perspectives on research possibilities within their respective domains. Dr. M. Hanumantha Rao, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Nagpur Faculty and AIIMS Madurai, shared profound insights into the realm of medical research, unveiling promising prospects for future advancements.
All About the IIM Nagpur Symposium
Dr. Omprakash G. Kakde, Director of IIIT Nagpur, shed light on the transformative role of information technology and computer sciences in catapulting India to a leadership position within the global knowledge economy in the coming years. Simultaneously, Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of MNLU Nagpur, explored diverse legal fields and highlighted the state-of-the-art facilities available at MNLU Nagpur.
The presence of Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, added substantial value as the esteemed Chief Guest. Dr. Karandikar emphasized the pivotal role of institutional-level capacity building, underscoring the importance of quality research and commendable achievements in the fields of science and technology.
Enhancing the intellectual fervor of the Symposium, Guest of Honour Dr. Arvind Ranade, National Secretary of Vigyan Bharti and Director of the National Innovation Foundation, provided insights into the ethos of joint research projects. He highlighted the critical importance of cooperation, collaboration, and coexistence in propelling India's social development.
Mr. Devashish Saraf, the program coordinator, assumed a pivotal role in bringing together these institutions on a unified platform. He advocated for active collaboration among faculty and researchers, laying the groundwork for future research endeavors.
Prior to the Symposium, dignitaries were guided on a tour of the MIHAN campus of IIM Nagpur. During this visit, inFED (IIMN Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development) presented various entrepreneurial projects to the guests.
In its inaugural edition, the symposium acted as a guiding light, illuminating the way towards increased cooperation, knowledge exchange, and collaborative research initiatives among these esteemed institutions. This has set the stage for a promising future of collaborative innovation and societal development.
