IIM Calcutta completed its MBA Class of 2025 final placements, with the consulting sector leading the hiring process by offering 201 positions (37.3% of total offers).

Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) successfully wrapped up final placements for its MBA Class of 2025, despite facing a challenging job market. The consulting sector emerged as the dominant recruiter, accounting for 201 offers, which made up 37.3% of the total 538 job offers extended by 196 companies.
A total of 456 students participated in the placement process, securing lucrative roles across diverse sectors, including consulting, finance, technology, marketing, and general management.
Consulting Sector Takes the Lead
Consulting firms were the biggest recruiters this season, offering 201 positions. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) emerged as the top recruiter in the management consulting segment, while Accenture Strategy led in strategy consulting. Other prominent consulting firms included McKinsey, Kearney, Alvarez & Marsal, Arthur D. Little, Auctus Advisors, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, TCS, KPMG, PwC, and Vector Consulting, among others.
Finance Sector Sees Strong Participation
Despite economic headwinds, the finance sector continued to play a significant role, with 114 offers made in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, asset management, and wealth management. Major financial firms that participated included Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citi, Barclays, UBS, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Avendus, Moelis, Elevation Capital, DE Shaw, Claypond Capital, Standard Chartered, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Kotak Alternate Asset, Ambit, Prime Ventures, Edelweiss, and EY IB.
Technology Sector Expands Hiring
The tech industry also saw active participation, with 78 offers (14.5%) extended by companies like Google, Microsoft, Navi, Infosys Global, HiLabs, ThoughtSpot, Ola, Browserstack, UKG, Optum, ITC Infotech, EXL, and HCL.
Marketing and General Management See Strong Growth
Approximately 145 offers (27%) were made in marketing and general management, with leading firms such as Tata Administrative Services, Aditya Birla Group, GMR, RPSG, Zomato, Vedanta, RPG, Adani, Puma, Coca-Cola, Dabur, Airtel, and Mankind Pharma participating in the hiring process.
New Recruiters Join the IIM-C Talent Hunt
This year's placements also saw the arrival of several first-time recruiters, including DBS Bank, Welspun, Nykaa, Clear, Lava International, Juspay, Modelama Exports, Waaree Group, Fashion Accessories, and Policybazaar.
IIM Calcutta's placement season for the MBA Class of 2025 showcased the institute’s strong industry connections and the demand for its graduates, even in uncertain economic conditions. With a diverse range of recruiters and high-value roles, the placements reaffirm IIM-C’s status as one of India's premier business schools.
