IGNOU has announced the interview schedule for PhD programs for the 2024 session. Candidates can check the list of NET/JRF eligible and non-eligible candidates in the article below.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released the interview schedule for PhD admissions, July 2024 session. The interviews will be held in offline mode. Candidates have to physically report to the university campus for the interview.

IGNOU PhD Interview 2024 Documents Required

Candidates eligible for interview at IGNOU are required to bring the following listed documents for verification:

Application form/Admit Card
SSC Certificate for Date of Birth
Graduation and Post Graduation Mark Sheets and Certificates
Caste Certificate
NOC from employer (in case of candidates in employment)
Fellowship document (UGC, CSIR, GATE, CEED) specifying the validity period of the fellowship

IGNOU PhD Important Instructions

The selected candidate must attend a 6-month coursework at the Delhi Campus; accommodation will not be provided by IGNOU, and candidates must arrange their own.
A research proposal (maximum 5 to 7 pages) is required for the interview. Candidates must bring 5-10 copies of the same.
Candidates will write an essay on a given topic before the interview to assess their writing skills.
Interview weightage:
- Category A: Interview - 100%.
- Category B: Interview - 30%, NET score - 70%.
Interview parameters and weightage:
- Research Methodology: 40%.
- Subject-specific knowledge: 40%.
- Communication Skills: 20%.
Non-eligible candidates with grievances must submit the required documents within 3 days of the interview schedule's publication for reconsideration.

For any grievances, contact the school and program coordinator within three days and email the required documents. Documents sent after three days of the interview schedule's publication will not be accepted.
