IGNOU has recently launched four new MSc programs in the School of Sciences through the Online Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

New Delhi: The School of Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has rolled out four new Master of Science (MSc) programmes, that will be offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode starting from the July 2023 session.

The newly launched MSc programs at IGNOU include MSc Physics (MSCPH), MSc Applied Statistics (MSCAST), MSc Geography (MSCGG), and MSc Geo-informatics (MSCGI). Each program will last for a duration of two years.

These MSc programs were inaugurated by the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, during the 28th Prof. G Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture at the IGNOU campus.

Further, the university announced the extension of the deadline for fresh IGNOU July Session Admissions and re-registrations until July 15, 2023.

IGNOU MSc Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates can check the eligibility criteria and apply for these new MSc courses by visiting the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

To apply for MSc in Applied Statistics, candidates must hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with statistics or mathematics as one of the subjects from any recognized university.
To seek admission to the MSc in Geography applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree in any discipline. Whereas for the MSc in Geo-Informatics, candidates should hold a graduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Science, Planning, Computer Application, or Information Technology from a recognized university. Alternatively, applicants who have completed a Master of Arts (MA) in Geography from a recognized university are also eligible.
Candidates must have a graduate degree with a major or honors in Physics to apply for admission to the MSc in Physics. Alternatively, applicants with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree (including IGNOU BSc program under CBCS) in Mathematics and Physics or a BSc degree from IGNOU are eligible.

How to Register for IGNOU MSc Admission 2023?

Interested candidates can follow the steps given below to register for the new MSc programs of the IGNOU July 2023 Session.

Step 1: Go to the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in

Step 2: Select the option for new registration

Step 3: Provide your basic details, including your name, email address, password, and other required information

Step 4: After successful registration, log in using your registered username and password

Step 5: Complete the remaining sections of the application form and upload the necessary documents

Step 6: Save your application, submit it, and proceed to make the payment of the fees

Step 7: Once the process is complete, download the application form for future reference

Meanwhile, IGNOU has announced an extension of the re-registration deadline for the July 2023 admission cycle until July 15. Students who qualify for a scholarship can register for it through the National Scholarship portal.
