New Delhi: Gurugram University has started the application process for admission to its PhD programme for the academic year 2023-24. Interested and eligible candidates can enrol for PhD Programme through the official portal, @gurugramuniversity.ac.in, till May 31, 2023.

Candidates seeking Admission to PhD at Gurugram University can apply online and submit the application form till May 31, 2023. Gurugram University PhD Admission 2023 will be based on a university-conducted entrance exam, which is followed by an interview stage.

Gurugram University PhD Admission 2023: Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Candidates seeking to enrol for admission to the Gurugram University PhD Programme, will have to fulfil the requisite eligibility & selection criteria.

PhD	Candidates must hold a master's degree (1 year/2 semester master's programme after 4 years/8 semesters, bachelor's programme or 2 year/4 semester, master's programme after 3 years/6 semesters, bachelor's degree programme) with 55% marks in the main subject (or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto)/ allied subject (or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto) OR its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system). Candidates who fall under the SC/ ST/ BC (Block A & B) non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled of Haryana, Economically Weaker Section, and other categories are permitted a 5% mark relaxation in the aforementioned Degrees, reducing the score from 55% to 50% as per the commission's discretion from time to time. If a candidate holds a degree equivalent to master’s degree from a foreign university, a degree equivalence certificate issued by AIU is mandatory.	Chapter 2 lists the fixed total number of seats by department, as proposed by the department's Departmental Research Committee (DRC). A university-conducted entrance exam will be used to determine admission to the Ph.D. programme for each discipline. The relevant Teaching Departments will be responsible to have established the course material for the Entrance Exam.

Gurugram University PhD Admission 2023: Entrance Exam Details

The entrance exam will be of 100 marks and will be held for a duration of three hours. There will be two different sections in the exam.
The first section of the exam will be the same for all disciplines, whereas section two will be subject-specific.
Part-I will consist of 50 objective-style questions about research methods worth 50 points, and Part-II, worth 50 points, will ask students to complete a short essay.
There will be no negative marking.
However, a candidate must obtain 50% marks to qualify the entrance test (47.50% for SC /ST/Differently abled candidates).
The Ph.D. Entrance Test is not required for those who have a valid UGC/ CSIR-JRF/ NET/ Teacher Fellowship/Inspire Fellow /GATE/ GPAT score; instead, they must go straight to the Interview phase.
The exempted may also take the Ph.D. Entrance Test to increase their weight in the rankings.
