The Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University) offers diverse academic options ranging from diploma to doctoral degrees. Admission to UG/PG programmes is primarily through CUET 2026, while diploma and vocational programmes follow separate merit-based selection. The institute maintains NAAC A++ accreditation and follows the National Education Policy 2020 framework.

GRI Dindigul Admission 2026 Tentative Important Dates

UG applicants must have passed 12th standard from a recognized board with required subjects. For science programmes, candidates need Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology. For commerce programmes, 12th pass with any stream is acceptable. Minimum age as on July 1, 2026 is 21 years (24 years for SC/ST candidates).

PG admission requires a bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks in the qualifying examination (45% for SC/ST candidates). Specific programmes have additional subject requirements. For example, M.Sc. Physics requires B.Sc. Physics with Mathematics as an allied subject.

How to Apply for GRI Admission 2026?

• Candidates must visit the official GRI admission portal at ruraluniv.ac.in to begin the registration process.
• First, create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number.
• After successful registration, candidates receive a username and password via email and SMS.
• The application fee is ₹800 for general candidates, while SC/ST students can apply free of cost.

For UG and PG programmes, admission is primarily through CUET 2026 scores. Diploma, B.Voc., and PG Diploma programmes follow merit-based selection based on 12th standard marks. Candidates must carefully review eligibility criteria for their chosen programme before applying.

Candidates must produce original certificates for verification at the time of admission. Required documents include 10th and 12th mark sheets, transfer certificate, migration certificate (if applicable), caste certificate (if applicable), and valid ID proof. PG candidates must submit consolidated mark sheets of their qualifying examination by September 30, 2026.

What’s Next for Students

For CUET-based programmes, GRI will conduct counselling based on CUET scores and merit. If seats remain unfilled after CUET counselling, the institute will fill UG seats based on 12th standard marks and PG seats through an entrance test.

Interested candidates should register immediately as the last date for online registration is May 21, 2026. After registration, candidates must fill the application form carefully and submit it within ten days of CUET results publication. Shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling based on their CUET scores and merit. The institute will notify the commencement date of classes on its official website.
