IIT Roorkee has released GATE COAP 2026 Round 5 offers on June 6 at coap2026.iitr.ac.in. Candidates can only Accept and Freeze or Reject the offer. The Retain and Wait option is withdrawn from this decisive round.
The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has released the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2026 Round 5 offers. The offers went live on June 6, 2026 at coap2026.iitr.ac.in. Round 5 is the first decisive round of this counselling cycle.
COAP is the single online platform for GATE qualified candidates. It handles M.Tech, MS by Research and direct PhD admissions across participating institutes.
COAP 2026 Round 5 Decision Options
Round 5 is the final main round of COAP 2026. Candidates have only two choices in this round.
They can Accept and Freeze the offer or Reject it. The Retain and Wait option from earlier rounds is withdrawn.

Who Is Eligible for COAP 2026 Counselling?
Candidates need a valid GATE 2026, 2025 or 2024 scorecard. They must also hold an offer from a participating institute. Only such candidates can act on the Round 5 offer.
COAP 2026 Participating Institutes
A total of 24 institutes take part in COAP 2026 counselling. The list includes 23 IITs and IISc Bangalore. IISc stands for the Indian Institute of Science. Each institute issues its own offer through the portal.
How to Respond to the COAP 2026 Round 5 Offer?
Follow these steps to record your Round 5 decision in time:
- Visit the official portal at coap2026.iitr.ac.in.
- Log in with your registered COAP ID and password.
- Open the Round 5 offer card on your dashboard.
- Check the institute, programme and specialisation details carefully.
- Lock your response using the available action buttons.
- Confirm the choice and save the receipt for records.
COAP 2026 then moves to five additional rounds after Round 5. Each additional round runs as an independent decisive round. Rejecting an offer in Round 5 only opens fresh chances later. The additional rounds also lack the Retain and Wait option.

- Log in to coap2026.iitr.ac.in and open your Round 5 offer.
- Compare the offer with your preferred IITs and programmes.
- Choose your preferred option based on your priority list.
- Submit the response well before the Round 5 window closes.
- Download and save the decision receipt for future reference.
- Track the additional rounds from Round 6 onward if rejected.
Watch for Round 6 offer notifications shortly after the Round 5 deadline. Additional rounds run until the COAP cycle closes in July 2026.
