IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The registration starts from August 25, 2025, at the website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 official website has been launched at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. IIT Guwahati has released the important dates, along with the exam schedule and details. GATE 2026 registration starts on August 25, 2025.
- Candidates can register till September 25, 2025, without late fees. However, the GATE 2026 registration last date is October 6, 2025, with a late fee.
- GATE application fees are Rs 1000 (late fees are Rs 1500) for female/SC/ST/PwD and Rs 2000 (late fees are Rs 2500) for other candidates.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati is conducting the GATE 2026 exam. The exam is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The exam will be held in two sessions: the Forenoon Session from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the Afternoon Session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

GATE 2026 Registration Fees
IIT Guwahati has increased the GATE 2026 registration fees. Earlier, the fee for reserved candidates was Rs 900 and for other candidates was Rs 1800. Now, the GATE application fees are Rs 1000 for female/SC/ST/PwD and Rs 2000 for other candidates.

GATE 2026 Test Paper
- GATE 2026 will be conducted for 30 test papers.
- A new sectional paper on Energy Science (XE-I) has been introduced in the Engineering Science (XE) paper.
- Each candidate can appear for one or two test papers. You can select any two subjects from the published two-paper combinations.
- GATE 2026 score will be valid for three years from the date of result announcement.
