Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), Noida, an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has opened applications for its full-time and part-time doctoral programmes for the academic year 2026. Online applications are being accepted through the official website, fddiindia.com, by January 31, 2026.

FDDI PhD Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the Doctoral programme will be based on an entrance test, conducted by the institute, followed by an interview. Applicants are required to hold a postgraduate degree in design, management, or technology with at least 55% marks. Candidates qualified in the entrance test UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR, ICAR, ICMR, or FDDI faculty with 2+ years of service, or have masters degree in any discipline with more than 10 years of relevant experience in teaching.

However, 5% marks relaxation will be given to the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PwD categories.

FDDI PhD Selection Criteria

Candidates must know that the selection will be based on the marks obtained for the Doctoral Interview and as per the available vacancy in each subject. Qualifying for the Doctoral Interview alone will not ensure admission for research; candidates are required to submit a broad outline of the proposed research work to be submitted online through the ERP link.

Furthermore, candidates will be selected based on their score in the entrance examination and interview. A research proposal should include a problem statement, a research gap, a primary objective and a proposed methodology. (Indicative word limit: 3000 Words)
