Delhi University has revised its fee refund rules for the 2026-27 session. Students who exit a course within 30 days of joining will get a full refund. The change aligns with NEP 2020 multiple entry-exit flexibility.
The University of Delhi (DU) has issued a revised fee refund policy for the 2026-27 academic session on its official website at du.ac.in. The new rules allow a full refund of fees if a student exits a programme within 30 days of joining. The notification was released by the university on June 1, 2026.
The revised framework applies to all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes offered under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 four-year structure. The policy has been aligned with the multiple entry and exit options built into NEP 2020. Students who choose to leave a course mid-way will be refunded as per the new slab structure.
What the New DU Refund Policy Says
Under the revised rules, a student withdrawing from a course within 30 days of the start date is entitled to a full refund of the tuition fee. Beyond this 30-day window, refunds will be issued on a graded basis depending on the date of withdrawal. The fee already paid for the cancelled period will be returned to the registered bank account.
The university has clarified that the policy covers regular UG, PG, and integrated programmes admitted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) and the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Certain non-refundable charges such as registration and processing fees remain outside the refund scope.
