The University of Delhi (DU) has issued a revised fee refund policy for the 2026-27 academic session on its official website. Under the new rules, students can receive a full refund of the tuition fee if they withdraw within 30 days of joining. The notification was released by the university on June 1, 2026.
The revised framework applies to all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes offered under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 four-year structure. The policy has been aligned with the multiple entry and exit provisions of NEP 2020, allowing students to leave a programme without facing a significant financial burden.

What the New DU Refund Policy Says
According to the revised rules, a student who withdraws from a course within 30 days of the programme start date is entitled to a full refund of the tuition fee. After this period, refunds will be processed on a graded slab basis, depending on the date of withdrawal. The eligible amount will be credited to the student's registered bank account.
The university has clarified that the policy covers regular UG, PG, and integrated programmes admitted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) and the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). However, registration and processing fees are non-refundable.
