The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, has released the tentative counselling schedule for Special Stray Round admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in Government Medical/Dental Colleges, Self-Financing Institutions, and Government Quota seats. This round of counselling is intended for specific categories, including Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and students eligible for the 7.5% reservation under the Tamil Nadu Government School quota.

Counselling Schedule for MBBS Admissions Under Person with Benchmark Disabilities (PWD) Quota

This counselling round is exclusively for candidates from the BC community who are Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWD).

Key Instructions:

• Candidates opting for re-allotment must join the new seat if allotted.

• Retaining previously allotted seats does not require participation.

• All original certificates must be presented at the time of reporting.

• Any failure to report within the specified timeline will result in admission cancellation.

Special Stray Vacancy Counselling for Tamil Nadu Government School Students (7.5% Quota)

This round is for government school students eligible under the 7.5% reservation.

Key Instructions:

• No additional tuition or processing fees are applicable for this reservation.

• Candidates must lock choices before the deadline to avoid automatic locking.

• Failure to join or discontinue will lead to a discontinuation fee and a ban from counselling for one academic year.

Special Stray Vacancy Counselling for State Quota and Management Quota Seats

This round applies to Government and Management Quota seats, including NRI lapsed seats.

Key Instructions:

• A refundable security deposit is required: INR 5,00,000 for MBBS and ₹2,00,000 for BDS (exemptions apply for eligible SC/SCA/ST candidates).

• Candidates who participated in previous rounds but were not allotted seats need not pay again.

• Choice filling for both Government and Management Quotas is allowed based on eligibility.

• Any unfilled seats will be converted to the general category.
