Tamil Nadu NEET PG Counselling: DME Announces Resignation Portal for PG MD/MS/Diploma/DNB Courses

Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME), Kilpauk, Chennai, has released a notice for candidates who wish to withdraw from their allotted seats. The resignation portal has been announced for those candidates who have been allotted seats in PG MD/MS Diploma/DNB courses in Round 1 and Round 2 counselling. Students will be allowed to resign their seats without forfeiting their security deposit and tuition fees.

The resignation portal will be open from 27th January 2025 at 3:00 PM to 28th January 2025 at 5:00 PM.

Key Resignation Instructions for Candidates

Students must follow the instructions mentioned below issued by DME Tamil Nadu during the resignation process.

• Candidates who wish to resign their joined seats in round 1 and round 2 counselling without forfeiture of security deposit and tuition fee can do so from 27 January 2025, 3:00 PM to 28 January 2025, 5:00 PM.

• The resignation process is entirely online and students must download their resignation letters online and submit these letters to the allotted colleges to get their original certificates back.

• There will be no offline resignation process.

• Students are also advised to not to resign from the joined seats after the prescribed deadline.

• For candidates who give consent for re-allotment in Round 3 (Mopup) counselling and participate in Round 3 (Mopup), the Rules of Round 3 will apply since the candidate has exercised choices and participated in Round 3.  

• Round 1, Round 2 joined candidates who neither participated in Round 3 nor resigned, will be considered as retained their seats and hence part of Round 3 after the stipulated date and time. 

• The stipulated date for discontinuation is 29.01.2025. From 29.01.2025 Discontinuation fee will apply. 

Key Instructions for Colleges/Institutions:

• Colleges are instructed to reject any resignation requests after the stipulated deadline.

• Institutions are also advised to work on all weekends and public holidays until the counselling period ends to facilitate the smooth processing of PG admissions.
