DIAT Pune Opens PhD Admissions 2026; Apply by November 14

DIAT Pune has opened its applications for PhD programmes for the January 2026 session. Interested candidates must apply by November 14, 2025. The entrance test and interview are scheduled for December 12, 2025.

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune invites applications for its PhD programme directed to researchers in DRDO, tri-services, PSUs, R&D organisations, and the industry. DIAT has opened applications for the January 2026 batch for interested researchers in various departments and interdisciplinary topics.

DIAT Pune PhD Eligibility Criteria 2026

Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science with at least 55% marks, or equivalent CGPA/DGPA
BE/BTech with 10 years of relevant R&D/industrial experience eligible
MBA/MS/MTech for Defence Technology Management
5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD candidates
Project staff and sponsored candidates need to provide NoC, sponsorship and/or work experience certificate.

Complete and send a hard copy to: Joint Registrar (Academics), DIAT (DU), Girinagar, Pune-411025 before November 14, 2025.
Selection Process 2026-

Written examination will be held by the respective departments
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview
Final selection will be based on the combined performance
