New Delhi: Delhi University has announced that it would let gap year students apply for undergraduate programmes and courses for the academic session of 2023-24. However, these students would have to take the CUET 2023 Exam.
According to DU, the students who have taken gap years would be taken into consideration for admission. Haneet Gandhi, the dean of admissions at DU, said that applicants would be able to apply for DU Admissions by using their CUET 2023 scores.
The only criteria used for admissions to DU courses will be the CUET (UG) 2023 results. All the candidates must appear in the CUET (UG) 2023, including those who are applying for admission on Supernumerary seats like Sports, ECA, etc., said Gandhi.
Further, she continued by saying that if students wanted to switch their stream, they wouldn't be put at a disadvantage. The stream change has no negative effects and gap years won't be a barrier to entry into DU UG programmes, but all such applicants will need to appear in the CUET (UG) 2023. The university has activated the website @admission.uod.ac.in for DU Admissions 2023.
Earlier, in 2022, the university used the CUET 2022 exam to grant admissions to the aspirants. Around 6 lakh 40 thousand students choose DU as their top preferred college.
Moreover, DU implemented a counselling process to allocate candidates spots in the various colleges affiliated with the central university after the CUET exam was completed and the results were released.
Meanwhile, the CUET UG 2023 is scheduled to be held between May 21 and 31, 2023. The CUET 2023 registration will conclude on March 12, 2023, thus, candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate courses can submit their applications on or before the deadline.
