New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of top Central Universities that have been given autonomy under the University Grants Commission (Categorization of Universities for Grant of Graded Autonomy) Regulations of 2018.
UGC grants autonomy to universities to provide them with additional administrative and academic independence to improve overall quality and performance. The list includes a total of 8 central universities including Delhi University, University of Hyderabad, Central University of Rajasthan and others.
As per the UGC’s directions, all central, state and deemed universities accept students for admission to their undergraduate courses based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG Exam. As of now, over 200 universities across India accept CUET scores for admissions.

List of Universities Granted Category I Autonomy by UGC
With this category I autonomy, the universities have the authority to participate in decision-making processes related to academic, administrative, and financial matters. Check the list of universities that have been granted category I autonomy below:
