Despite widespread calls for the postponement of the NEET MDS 2024 exam, it is scheduled to take place on March 18, 2024, with a reduction in the number of test cities from 76 to 56 this year.

Simultaneously, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has communicated concerns to the union health minister regarding faulty eligibility criteria, inadequate preparation time, and parity with MBBS interns in the NEET MDS examination.

FORDA has appealed for rescheduling the exam, providing candidates with sufficient preparation time and addressing the eligibility issue. The association suggests aligning the rescheduled date with NEET PG 2024. Additionally, doctors are advocating for extending the internship cutoff date to accommodate around 8000 interns.

Expressing concern, a health activist on the X platform emphasises the need to address the situation promptly, stating, "Gross injustice!!! 8000+ interns are becoming victims of the laxity of the university & officials. For how long will the country's future be ruined like this? I request @narendramodi ji to please focus on this matter and allow the children to appear in the exam!"
