DAV University PhD Eligibility Criteria
- 1-year/2-semester master's degree after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree
Or
2-year/4-semester master's degree after a 3-year bachelor's degree
Or
Equivalent qualifications recognized by statutory regulatory bodies
- At least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade (grading system)
- For 4-year bachelor's degree candidates a minimum of 75% aggregate marks or equivalent grade
- 5% relaxation in marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), Differently-Abled, EWS, and other eligible categories
- The candidates who have qualified/received UGC(NET/JRF)/ UGC-CSIR (JRF) examination will be exempted from the Ph.D eligibility test

Note:
- The marks obtained in the NET by the candidates will be valid for one year for admission to PhD programmes except for JRF. However, they too are required to fill out the application form
DAV University PhD Entrance test
Candidates will be required to attempt 60 Multiple-choice questions, each question carrying 1 mark. The entrance test will include 30 questions of research methodology and 30 questions of the subject.

- Time: 11:00 am – 12:10 noon
- Exam Centre: DAV University Campus, Jalandhar
Note: Candidates who have cleared the NET/JRF exam will be exempted from the entrance test
DAV University PhD Personal Interview
Eligible Candidates (qualified in the entrance test and exempted from the entrance test) will be called for a personal interview. The interview shall consider the following aspects:
- The candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research
- The research work can be suitably undertaken at the University
- The proposed area of research can contribute to new/additional knowledge
Note: No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate appearing for Entrance Test/Interview
Qualifying the test and interview will not entitle a candidate to claim for admission to the University. The final selection of the candidate will be subject to availability and consent of the research supervisor.
