CUSB is set to launch 4-year integrated BA B.Ed and BSc B.Ed programs from the 2026-27 session. Aligning with NEP 2020, admissions will be conducted through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET).

The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is all set to introduce four-year BA B.Ed and BSc B.Ed programmes under the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), starting from the academic session 2026-27.
This move aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which envisions making the 4-year integrated B.Ed the minimum degree qualification for school teachers by 2030.The NCTE has already granted the necessary permissions to the university to commence these courses.
According to CUSB Deputy Registrar Kumar Kaushal, the curriculum will be delivered in a multidisciplinary framework, fostering collaboration between the Department of Teacher Education and various liberal arts and science departments.

Admission Process and NCET 2026
Unlike other undergraduate programs at the university, admission to the integrated B.Ed courses will not be conducted through CUET (UG). Instead, candidates must appear for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET), which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- Sanctioned Seats: 50 seats per stream (50 for BA B.Ed and 50 for BSc B.Ed).
- Admission Mode: Entrance-based (NCET).

ITEP and NEP 2020 Vision
The introduction of ITEP at CUSB is a significant step toward creating professionally trained teachers. Public Relations Officer Mudassir Alam highlighted that the program is designed to equip prospective educators with the skills to implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences across different school stages.
