The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya, has announced admissions for its Ph.D. programmes across 23 departments under the academic year 2025-26.

A total of 287 seats are available in disciplines such as Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Law, Sociology, Political Studies, Commerce, Psychology, Education, and Journalism & Mass Communication.

CUSB Ph.D. admissions 2025 will be conducted as per the latest UGC guidelines, and candidates will be shortlisted based on UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, GPAT, and other national-level examinations, followed by an interview process.

As per the official notification, Ph.D. admission at Central University of South Bihar will be based on UGC-NET and equivalent national-level exams in accordance with the UGC’s March 27, 2024 guidelines. Candidates are divided into three categories depending on their qualification status:

• Category 1: Eligible for JRF, Assistant Professor, and Ph.D. admission
• Category 2: Eligible for Assistant Professor and Ph.D. admission
• Category 3: Eligible for Ph.D. admission only

To apply, CUSB Ph.D. 2025-26 candidates must have cleared UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR (June 2024 onwards), GATE, or GPAT, depending on the subject. Those who qualified for NET before June 2024 are not eligible.

Moreover, applicants must meet the minimum educational qualifications mentioned by their respective departments. A 5% relaxation in marks is applicable for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), EWS, and PwD categories.

The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) has invited applications for Ph.D. admission 2025-26 through the official CUSB SAMARTH portal. The entire process is online, and candidates must carefully upload all required details and documents before final submission.

Applicants are required to upload a recent passport-size photograph, a scanned signature, and other relevant supporting documents. After completing the application, a printout of the submitted form must be taken and attached along with the original documents for the interview process.
