The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced revised timings for the CUET UG 2026 afternoon session on May 30 after a technical issue at select examination centres.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notice regarding the CUET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 30, 2026. According to the agency, a technical glitch at certain TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) examination centres delayed the commencement of the afternoon session at some locations. The issue has now been resolved, and NTA has implemented full compensatory time to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged. As a result, the afternoon session was rescheduled to begin at 4:00 PM instead of the originally scheduled 3:00 PM, while candidates were provided the complete duration of the examination.

What Happened?

According to NTA, a technical issue reported by TCS examination centres affected the commencement of the afternoon session at some locations. The disruption was limited to select centres and did not impact all candidates across the country. The technical issue was promptly addressed, and normal examination operations resumed after the problem was resolved.

Compensatory Measures Taken

To ensure fairness and maintain examination integrity, NTA provided full compensatory time to all affected candidates. The afternoon session was extended by one hour, while the reporting time was also relaxed by 30 minutes. The agency clarified that no candidate would lose examination time because of the delay, and all candidates would be allowed to complete the entire paper before leaving the examination hall.

Revised Afternoon Session Details

Candidates appearing in the afternoon shift were asked to report from 2:30 PM onwards, instead of the earlier reporting time of 2:00 PM. The examination commenced at 4:00 PM and continued until 6:30 PM, ensuring that candidates received the full 2.5-hour examination duration. NTA emphasized that there was no reduction in exam time for any candidate.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates appearing in the afternoon session were advised to reach their examination centres by 2:30 PM, carrying their admit card and valid photo identification. They were instructed to follow directions issued by centre authorities and immediately report any concerns to invigilators or examination staff. Candidates were also required to remain inside the examination hall until the completion of the paper.

What Candidates Should Know?

NTA has confirmed that the technical issue has been fully resolved and that examinations are now being conducted normally. The morning session remained unaffected, while candidates in the afternoon shift received the necessary compensatory measures. The agency reiterated that examination fairness and candidate welfare remain top priorities and that all required safeguards were implemented to protect students' interests.
