CUET UG 2024: DU Receives 26 Lakh Applications; Becomes Most Popular University

With 26 lakh applications, Delhi University leads CUET-UG 2024 race

New Delhi: According to a study showing the number of applications received by universities through the CUET UG 2024 exam, DU has topped the list. Delhi University has received a whopping 26 lakh applications from students across the country.

A total of 261 universities are participating in the admission process through CUET UG 2024 for admission to their various UG courses. As per official records, NTA has received 13.4 lakh applications in total for the CUET UG 2024 Exam.

DU offers around 80,000 seats for admission to its various UG Courses. Last year, it received a total of 28.3 lakh applications, however, the numbers are expected to increase when closer to the counselling period.

Following closely behind, the next university to have received a large number of applications is Benaras Hindu University (BHU) with 8.4 lakh applications. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow is the third most popular with 5.1 Lakh applications. Central University of Allahabad, Jamia Milia Islamia, Central University of Haryana, and Central University of Karnataka have received more than one lakh registrations.

Of the 261 participating HEIs, 41 received over one lakh applications including central universities such as the University of Allahabad (4.8 lacks), Jamia Millia Islamia (2.6 lakhs), Central Universities of Haryana and Karnataka each receiving 2.3 lakhs, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Visva-Bharati with 1.6 lakhs each, and Aligarh Muslim University with one lakh, among others.

Three private universities among the top 10 are Amity University, Noida (4.97 lakhs), Chandigarh University (3.3 lakhs), and Lovely Professional University (2.4 lakhs).
