CSAB NEUT 2026 Registration Opens at csab.nic.in; Check How to Apply

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has opened the CSAB North Eastern States and Union Territories (NEUT) 2026 registration and choice-filling process on the official website, csab.nic.in. Eligible candidates from the North-Eastern states and specified Union Territories can apply for admission to AICTE-approved technical institutes.

The counselling process covers two separate admission tracks. The first track is for Engineering and Architecture admissions, while the second track is for Pharmacy admissions. Both counselling tracks are hosted on the admissions.nic.in platform under CSAB.

CSAB has also released the updated CSAB NEUT 2026 Information Brochure dated July 17, 2026. Candidates must carefully read the Business Rules and Process Flow documents before completing the application. The rules for CSAB NEUT counselling are different from those followed in the regular JoSAA counselling and CSAB Special rounds.

CSAB NEUT 2026 Counselling Structure

CSAB NEUT 2026 counselling will be conducted through two main seat allotment rounds. A spot round may also be organised by the respective states, Union Territories or NERIST if seats remain vacant after the regular rounds.

The counselling process includes:

• Online registration
• Document verification
• Choice filling and locking
• Seat allotment
• Payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee
• Submission of Float, Slide or Freeze willingness
• Downloading of the Provisional Admission Letter
• Reporting at the allotted institute

Registration and choice filling for Engineering and Architecture will be conducted separately from Pharmacy counselling. Candidates can fill choices only after completing successful registration and document verification. Candidates should lock their choices before the deadline. Otherwise, the last saved choices will be automatically locked. 

Candidates who receive the Provisional Admission Letter after Round 1 or Round 2 can proceed with admission if they do not wish to participate in subsequent counselling rounds. Candidates opting for Freeze after Round 1 can download the Provisional Admission Letter and report to the allotted institute according to the schedule.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for CSAB NEUT 2026?

The CSAB NEUT scheme reserves seats for candidates belonging to the North-Eastern states and specified Union Territories where adequate degree-level technical education facilities are unavailable. Under the scheme, seats are allocated in AICTE-approved institutes located across other Indian states.

Candidates must fulfil the academic qualification, domicile and category requirements mentioned in the official CSAB NEUT 2026 brochure. The eligibility framework for NEUT counselling is different from the criteria followed for JoSAA counselling and CSAB Special rounds.

How to Register for CSAB NEUT 2026?

Candidates can complete the CSAB NEUT 2026 registration process through the official portal by following these steps:

• Visit the official CSAB website at csab.nic.in.
• Select the relevant counselling track Engineering and Architecture or Pharmacy.
• Complete the registration using valid candidate credentials.
• Enter the required personal, academic, domicile and category details.
• Upload the necessary supporting documents in the prescribed format.
• Wait for the completion of document verification.
• Fill in the preferred institutes and courses during the choice-filling window.
• Lock the choices before the deadline to confirm the submitted preferences.

What Is the CSAB NEUT 2026 Fee Structure?

There is no initial registration fee for participating in CSAB NEUT 2026 counselling. Candidates are required to pay the fee only after receiving a seat allotment.

The Seat Acceptance Fee is Rs 5,000. It must be paid online during the respective reporting window after the seat allotment result is announced.

Candidates who fail to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee or complete online reporting within the deadline may lose the allotted seat and their claim for further admission.
