CMR University PhD Admission 2025-26 Open; Apply by January 13

Chikka Muniyappa Reddy University (CMRU Bangalore) is inviting applications for PhD programs for the 2025-26 academic year.The university will take admissions through an entrance test. However, candidates qualified for fellowship in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR/NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests will be exempted from this test.

CMR University PhD Admission 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria

For admission to PhD (full-time/part-time) programs, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

• 1-year master's degree after a 4-year bachelor's degree or a 2-year master's degree after a 3-year bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks.
• 4-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 75% marks. Candidates should obtain their qualifying degrees from reputed institutions of National Importance/ NIRF ranking within 200.
• M.Phil program with at least 55% marks.
• A relaxation of 5% marks will be provided for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently-Abled candidates. (in all the above cases)

CMR University PhD Admission Procedure 2025-26

• CMR University will admit students through an Entrance Test conducted by the university.
• The Entrance Test syllabus will consist of 50% of research methodology, and 50% will be subject-specific.
• Students who have secured 50% marks in the Entrance Test are eligible to be called for the interview.
• A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance examination for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Differently-Abled candidates.
• A weightage of 70% will be given for the entrance test and 30% for the interview performance.
• The final list of selected candidates will be announced who are eligible for admission to the PhD program in the concerned fields of specialisation.

Full-time PhD scholars are eligible to apply for the CMRU fellowship schemes under JRF/SRF. The monthly stipend is up to INR 27,000 (1st and 2nd year: INR 25,000, 3rd year: INR 27,000).

The applicants are requested to fill up the online application form and pay the application fee of INR 1500. The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

The duly filled application along with copies of educational transcripts and photo lD proof along with a copy online receipt must be submitted at the university office.
