The Consortium of NLUs released the CLAT 4th Merit List 2026 on May 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates must pay confirmation fees by May 14, 2026 by 2:00 PM and choose between Freeze, Float, or Exit options.
The Consortium of National Law Universities has released the CLAT 4th Merit List 2026 for UG courses on May 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Candidates can download their allotment results from consortiumofnlus.ac.in by logging in with their registration credentials. This is the fourth round of counselling offering 3,213 seats across 25 NLUs nationwide.
The CLAT fourth allotment round is significant as it is the last round where the Float option remains available. Candidates who did not accept seats in earlier rounds or are seeking upgrades can participate in this round. Only those who have not confirmed seats in previous rounds are eligible to check their allotment status.

Candidates appearing in the 4th merit list may receive their first allotment or an upgraded seat. If your name appears for the first time, a seat has opened due to withdrawals in earlier rounds. If you already held a seat, an upgrade means a higher-preference NLU is now allotted. Both situations require immediate action within the deadline.

Freeze, Float, and Exit Options Explained
The Freeze option locks your seat permanently and removes you from further counselling rounds. Float keeps your seat while allowing participation in the final round for potential upgrades. Exit withdraws you from counselling entirely. Since this is the last Float opportunity, candidates should evaluate carefully before deciding.
Candidates choosing Freeze or Float must pay the confirmation fee by May 14, 2026 by 2:00 PM. The confirmation fee is non-refundable. Those who Freeze must also pay the remaining university fee directly to the allotted NLU by May 30, 2026. Missing payment deadlines results in automatic seat cancellation.
Candidates must submit CLAT Admit Card, Class 10 marksheet, Class 12 marksheet, Character Certificate, Transfer Certificate, and Category Certificate (if applicable). All documents must be valid, clear, and in the format prescribed by the Consortium or the allotted NLU. PwD and Domicile certificates are required if applicable.

Candidates still without seats should prepare backup options as only the final round remains. The fifth merit list will be released on May 20, 2026.
