Candidates who participated in the counselling process and were eligible for the fourth round can now access their seat allotments through the official portal by logging in with their credentials.
The fourth round of CLAT 2026 counselling is open to candidates who were not allotted seats in the first three rounds or those who selected the "Float" option in previous rounds.
Candidates who did not accept or apply for seat upgrades in the third round are also eligible to participate in the fourth round of counselling.
This round is designed to fill vacant seats across NLUs, providing additional opportunities for law aspirants to secure admission in their preferred institutions.

Understanding CLAT 2026 Seat Allotment Options Freeze, Float, and Exit
Once candidates receive their allotment in the fourth round, they have three critical options to exercise. The "Freeze" option allows candidates to confirm their seat at the allotted NLU and exit the counselling process permanently.
The "Float" option enables candidates to participate in the fifth round for potential upgrades to higher-ranked universities.
The "Exit" option permits candidates to withdraw from the entire counselling process, though this decision is irreversible and candidates cannot participate in future rounds.
Confirmation Fee Payment and Document Verification Process
Candidates who accept their allotted seats or choose the float option must pay the confirmation fee between May 2 and May 8, 2026, by 1:00 PM.
After fee payment, candidates are required to upload all prescribed documents on the official portal for verification by the allotted NLU.
Essential documents include Class 10 mark sheet, Class 12 mark sheet, CLAT admit card, character certificate, transfer/migration certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), PWD certificate (if applicable), and domicile certificate (if applicable).
What’s Next for Students
The Consortium will release the Fifth and Final Allotment List on May 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM to fill any remaining vacant seats.
Candidates must pay the complete university fee by May 30, 2026, by 5:00 PM to finalize their admission.
After the fifth round of counselling concludes, the Consortium's centralized counselling process will be closed, and individual NLUs can fill any remaining vacant seats through their own institutional processes.
