New Delhi: The Consortium of National Law Universities has introduced a new inclusion to the reservation category, specifically at Gandhinagar National Law University (GNLU), Silvassa. The recent official notification announced the addition of a 'Domicile Reservation' category. 

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2024) is scheduled to be conducted on December 3, 2023. The registration process for CLAT 2024 is currently in progress and the deadline for submitting the CLAT 2024 Application Form is November 3, 2023. All applicants need to complete their submissions through the official website, @consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

According to the official GNLU announcement, a domicile reservation category has been incorporated for both UG and PG law programs. The new GNLU Domicile Reservation benefits candidates domiciled in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DNH & DD). Eligible candidates are encouraged to update their details on the CLAT Portal as per the statement in the official notification.

It's important for candidates to take note that the consortium has issued comprehensive guidelines for updating the reservation category, specifically tailored for students who have chosen GNLU

How to Update Reservation Category in CLAT Application Form 2024? 

Candidates can follow the step-by-step process to update the reservation category within the CLAT Application Form 2024:

Step 1: Log in to your CLAT 2024 candidate account.

Step 2: Click on the 'Edit Application' button.

Step 3: Navigate to the 'Reservation' tab under GNLU, Silvassa.

Step 4: Respond to the question, "Are you a domicile of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu?" by selecting "Yes."

Step 5: Choose the desired Reservation Category from the provided dropdown menu.

Step 6: Save your changes by clicking the 'Submit' button.

Meanwhile, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has informed the Delhi High Court of its endorsement for the petition advocating the administration of CLAT 2024 in languages other than English, catering to regional preferences. 

Further, the upcoming Common Law Admission Test 2024 is set to record significant format changes. With an allocated duration of two hours, the exam will witness a reduction in the number of questions for undergraduate candidates, reducing from 150 to 120 in the CLAT 2024.
