CAT 2024 Live Updates: Slot 3 Exam Ended, Check Paper Analysis, Difficulty Level, and Exam Guidelines

• DILR – 22 questions with three DI and 2 LR sets. There were bar and line graph questions for DI. This section was moderately difficult. 
• QA – 22 questions instead of 20. This section was easier than Slots 1 and 2. 
• VARC – 24 questions, no para jumbles, and doable para completion questions. Reading Comprehension topics include Japanese Language, Space, Artificial Intelligence, and Government Policy for Liquor.

IIM Calcutta is conducting CAT 2024 slot 2 exam from 12.30 PM. The exam will end at 2.30 PM. 

In the Slot 1 CAT question paper, the number of questions increased to 68. There were 22 questions in DILR instead of 20.

The difficulty level of slot 1 of the CAT 2024 question paper was moderate to difficult. The initial feedback from the candidates suggests that there has not been much change in the question paper pattern from the previous year. For some candidates, the paper was quite as expected, while others said the paper was quite difficult and lengthy. VARC was moderate for all candidates. IIMs have implemented enhanced security measures to ensure the integrity of the test. To prevent any malpractice during the exam, IIMs have introduced mobile jammers at certain test centres. These measures aim to ensure a fair testing environment for all candidates.

CAT 2024 is a computer-based test. It would take 120 minutes. There are three sections:

1. Quantitative Aptitude (QA) - 22 Questions
2. Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) - 20 Questions
3. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC) - 24 Questions

Each section is allocated 40 minutes. Switching between sections during the test is not allowed.

• Permitted: Comfortable and simple clothing without heavy embellishments or accessories.
• Prohibited: Jewelry, watches, wallets, and metallic items.
• Footwear: Open-toed footwear like sandals is preferred.Closed shoes would have to be taken off while frisking.

The CAT 2024 will be conducted in three time slots:

1. Morning Slot: Reporting started at 7:00 AM, and the exam starts from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
2. Afternoon Slot: Reporting starts at 11:00 AM, and the exam is scheduled from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
3. Evening Slot: Reporting starts at 3:00 PM, with the exam held from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Candidates must report at least 15 minutes before the reporting time for security and verification checks. Late arrivals may lead to disqualification.
