New Delhi: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 will be conducted in November 24, 2024, in three shifts across over 130 cities in India. The official CAT 2024 notification will be released on the IIMCAT website on July 30, 2024.

The application process for CAT 2024 will commence in the first week of August 2024. Eligible candidates must note the below-mentioned common mistakes that must be avoided while filling out a CAT 2024 application form. This year, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta will conduct the CAT exam.

1: Mistakes During Creating CAT Login ID

The first step in applying for the CAT exam is to create login credentials on the official website. Applicants need to enter their basic information such as Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, and Phone Number. It's important to be careful during this step because if there are any mistakes, the information cannot be corrected, and the registration process will have to be started over.

2: Enter Correct Personal Details

Providing accurate personal information is essential in the CAT application form. This information is verified multiple times throughout the CAT admission process. Any errors in personal details can lead to the rejection of the application. If these mistakes are not corrected during the registration, they can cause problems in later stages of the admission process.

3: Enter Accurate Academic Qualifications

Like personal details, academic qualifications are essential for further processing of your CAT application form. Applicants must carefully check their academic information before submitting it. Any mistakes in this section can result in the application being rejected.

4: Upload Required Documents Carefully

A common mistake during the CAT registration process is attaching incorrect or illegible documents. Applicants must upload their photograph, signature, and reservation certificate (if applicable) in the specified format. 6: Choosing the Wrong Test City Centre and Programs

CAT 2024 is expected to be held in 150 cities. You can choose up to six test centers in the CAT application form. While most candidates get their first choice but it is not always guaranteed. Therefore, select all six options carefully, ranking them from most to least convenient.

In the CAT application form, you need to select your preferred programs. Since you can choose any number of programs without ranking them, many candidates use the 'Select All' option. Have a list of preferred courses ready beforehand as it will help in filling out the form more conveniently.

7: Be aware of the Format of Documents

Candidates must have a copy of their photograph and signature in .jpg/.jpe format with file size of less than 80 kb. PwD certificate and category certificate must be in PDF format.
