University of Calcutta is inviting applications for admission to the Department of Commerce, Department of Zoology, and the Department of Applied Physics for the academic session 2024-25. Candidates must submit the application form before the specified date.

The eligible candidates who cleared NET/SET/SLET/GATE/M.Phil are exempted from appearing in RET-WP and should directly appear for RET-OP interview.

Calcutta University PhD Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria

MSc in the relevant field with 55% marks or equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale.
5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled candidates as per UGC Ph.D. regulations.
Candidates with NET/GATE qualifications. They must submit a statement of purpose or a research proposal and attend the interview directly.

For Commerce

Candidates with a Master’s degree in Commerce or an equivalent qualification, with at least 55% marks or a grade 'B' on the UGC 7-point scale, are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. program in Commerce.
A 5% marks relaxation (or equivalent grade relaxation) is available for SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled candidates and others as per UGC norms.

Forms must be handwritten and submitted along with self-attested copies of:
