Fledge Institute Of Aviation And Hospitality, Raipur

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

If we talk about the institute where I'm currently working as a language and communication instructor, Fledge is one of the best places I have ever worked. Regarding what we do for work or what we offer to the students, we are offering not just the students an opportunity to fly high, but we're also giving them a chance to pursue their dreams of aviation and hospitality. We train them on several things, such as aviation management and the dos and don'ts of working in the industry. Additionally, we train them on how to maintain their appearance, their personality, their grooming skills, and their communication skills. Students also learn serving skills, first aid, and how to handle emergencies. We are also teaching them the technicalities, not only aviation-related but also hospitality, through multiple sessions held over a year and a half. It depends on the students' capability and how much time they need to learn, which we cater to accordingly. These are some programmes that we are offering the students that make them stand out from the crowd.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?

Our students primarily work in the aviation industry. Aviation hospitality jobs include airport management roles, which is a huge responsibility as individuals need to ensure the safe and smooth transportation of passengers, goods and cargo. As an airport management professional, students get great hospitality career opportunities at domestic and international airports and various airlines.

What will you say the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

We have a unique way of training our students. We don't follow the books issued and don’t hold just theory classes. We concentrate more on practical knowledge, teaching practical information and skills, and imbibing practical learning in the students. They can just read and implement that during their internships and job lives. If we talk about the best practices that we use, along with the things that are actually required in their careers, we make sure the students are learning everything from the basics to the advanced. We start teaching them about communication, starting with phonics. We do this so that they can become strong communicators, because that is the key to success. When students are appearing for interviews or talking with their seniors, they need to have immensely good communication skills. Our students have given a positive response to our teachings and they are getting paid to work for popular brands and high-ranking jobs.

What are some valuable insights of the program that you are offering at your institute/dept.?

When we talk about the valuable insights that are given to our students, we don't just teach through our books and papers. We focus on implementing a practical approach and for that, we adopt many activities. These activities are held in sessions multiple times during the year. Another activity that we work on is polishing the students’ teamwork, communication skills, and interpersonal skills. So, these activities are going to help them not just in their interviews but also in their future, wherever they are working.

How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

The training that we go through guarantees that students get the greatest learning experience possible. All of the faculty members need to have a good foundation in their area of expertise. They receive on-the-job training, workshops, and individual mentorships. We give precise and brief directions. To make the instructions more clear, use examples, illustrations and case studies. We leave room open for practise and criticism from students and fellow faculty members. Faculty members are encouraged to ask questions and offer ongoing assistance whenever students need it.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

Our students work on numerous projects during the duration of their courses. We have other classroom and curriculum activities where we take students on hotel visits so that they can learn and receive guidance from other hospitality professionals. We have taken the students to the midfielder recruits on the basis of which they complete a report or a project. Not only do students get to network and gain knowledge of what it is like to work in the field but they also receive credits for graduation through their projects.

What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

Our graduates can work as cabin crew or ground staff in the aviation sector and in other roles in hospitality. They might even be hired for positions as ground crew, flight attendants, or engineers who maintain aeroplanes. These jobs pay quite well and need applicants with strong communication abilities, initiative, and composure. Our students meet all these requirements.
