Sai Nath University, HOD, Faculty of Education Department: Mr. Munesh Kumar Interview

Mr. Munesh Kumar is the Head of the Department- Faculty of Humanities & Social Science at Sai Nath University. He completed his bachelor’s degree in B.Sc. after that master’s degree in M.Sc. and then did B.Ed. He joined Sai Nath University on 23rd August 2016.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?

As the HOD, my main responsibilities include designing the course structure and updating it in a timely manner to align with market demands. Effective classes should be organized for a smooth learning experience for the students. I monitor the progress of classes, provide necessary resources, and support faculties in delivering quality education. We as a team ensure open communication and coordination with the students.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

As a team, we collaborate to design curriculum and teaching methods that help the students in more practical applications of knowledge, ensuring them to be well-prepared for the industry and for that, the department organizes industry visits, guest lectures, and workshops on a regular basis. We focus on skill development by offering specialized training programs, certification courses, and career counseling. We as a team aim to enhance student’s employability and help them secure placements in reputable organizations.

How do you help your student to cope with the competition being so high in the outside world?

We are designing a syllabus that addresses the general competition. We focus on preparing students for TGT, PGT, and general competitions, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in these exams. Our syllabus is designed while considering the general competition in the outside world. We provide special classes on communication skills to motivate students and make them competition-ready.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through the program?

The program focuses on equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in interviews, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident. Students will have to give assignments and projects that require them to create PowerPoint presentations and will have to give presentations and discussions, to enhance their communication and presentation skills. We also provide various internship opportunities to the students, allowing them to gain practical experience in their respective fields.

How did you train or prepare yourself/ faculty to deliver the program to the students?

We ensured effective training by conducting seminars with industry leaders, which helped our faculties stay updated with the latest trends and practices in education. The seminars with industry leaders provided valuable insights and practical knowledge, which we can use in our teaching style and ensure that the program delivered will remain relevant and aligned with industry standards.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

We always try to maintain an open communication channel with both students and fellow faculty members. We create an environment where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns. This helps to build trust and understanding among everyone involved in the educational process. Through regular class discussions, group activities, and one-on-one interaction, I encourage students to voice their opinions, ask questions, and contribute to the learning environment.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

My suggestion would be to stay focused on your goals and surround yourself with positive things. Be cautious of engaging in activities that may deviate you from your path to success. Limiting the use of social media and games allows them to allocate more time and energy towards their studies and personal growth.
