New Delhi: Candidates aspiring to pursue a career in Marine engineering can enroll in the BTech Marine Engineering program or the BTech - Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering program. Admission to these courses will be done based on the IMU CET instead of JEE Main scores.

Registration for IMU CET 2024 will begin in April, and the examination is scheduled for June 2024. The complete timetable for the CET will be published on the official website of IMU, imu.edu.in.
The Indian Maritime University (IMU) conducts IMU CET, a national-level standard entrance test, facilitating admission to BTech Marine Engineering and BTech - Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering programs. Furthermore, IMU CET scores are accepted for entry into various other courses, including BSc, UG Diploma, MTech, MBA, and PhD.

IMU CET 2024: Exam Pattern
- In the Mathematics and Physics sections, there will be 50 questions each, while the Chemistry section will consist of 20 questions.
- Additionally, the English and Aptitude sections will have 40 questions each, making a total of 200 questions in the exam.
- The duration of the exam is 3 hours, featuring multiple-choice type questions.
- A negative marking of 0.25 will be applied for each incorrect answer.
For admission to BTech programs approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) in affiliated/non-affiliated institutes, an IMU CET rank is mandatory. Therefore, candidates seeking admission to these programs must register on the IMU CET registration portal, take the IMU CET, and secure ranks. Subsequently, candidates need to approach IMU CET affiliated/non-affiliated institutes for admission based on their respective admission processes.
Candidates intending to secure admission exclusively to IMU campuses should register on the IMU CET counseling portal, which will be accessible after the release of the IMU CET rank list.
