Brainware University PhD Admission 2025: Important Dates

Brainware University has released the detailed admission schedule for its PhD program. The schedule is presented in the table below.

Brainware University PhD Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates with a 4-year (8-semester) bachelor’s degree must have at least 75% marks or equivalent grade. A 5% relaxation in marks will be given to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), Differently-Abled, EWS, and other categories.
• Candidates must have completed a 1-year (2-semester) master’s program after a 4-year (8-semester) bachelor’s degree/a 2-year (4-semester) master’s program after a 3-year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualifications from recognised university with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• Candidates with an M.Phil. degree must have at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.

Note: Candidates who exceed the scheduled three-year research period must continue paying tuition fees per semester. Re-registration fees are applicable for candidates exceeding six years from the date of enrolment.

Brainware University PhD Admission Process 2025

Brainware University admits students to its Ph.D. program through multiple pathways:

National/State-Level Tests and Fellowships

Candidates qualifying for UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR-NET/GATE or holding prestigious scholarships (e.g., DST-INSPIRE, Maulana Azad Fellowship) are eligible based on an interview conducted by the Candidate Selection Committee.

NET Categories

Category 1: Eligible for Ph.D. admission with JRF and Assistant Professor appointment.

Category 2: Eligible for Ph.D. admission without JRF and Assistant Professor appointment.

Category 3: Eligible for Ph.D. admission only, not JRF or Assistant Professor appointment.

JRF-qualified candidates are admitted via interview. For Categories 2 and 3, admission is based on 70% NET scores and 30% interview performance.

University Entrance Test (BWU-PET)

Candidates may also qualify through the Brainware University Ph.D. Entrance Test, consisting of 50% research methodology and 50% subject-specific content. Candidates must score at least 50% to qualify for the interview (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Differently-Abled candidates). Admission is based on 70% entrance test marks and 30% interview performance.
