New Delhi: The BML Munjal University (BMU) has recently inaugurated its School of Liberal Studies (SoLS) with the aim to offer various interdisciplinary programs to interested students in the fields of natural sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities.
As per BMU, the newly launched School of Liberal Studies will offer students a four-year BA Program with optional exit options. Students can choose the exit option in their third year and choose from a variety of subjects as their major in the second year.
Following the course curriculum, the BMU BA Program will include elective and foundational courses in the first year and major and minor coursework in the second and third years. Students will be required to go through research, internships, and vocational training in their last year.

Informing about the initiative, Arindam Banerjee, Professor and Vice Dean of SoLS said, “Apart from imparting critical knowledge and skills, the School of Liberal Studies aims to transform students into lifelong learners so that they wholesomely comprehend complex challenges in the contemporary world and can build just and empathetic solutions for the society.”
The four-year BA program is designed to introduce participants to liberal arts principles and foster lifelong learning. The course will include writing seminars, South Asia in global history, reason and logic, self and identity, sociology, economics, data literacy, and history of science.

Through its School of Liberal Studies, BMU is preparing well-rounded individuals to skillfully navigate complex societal issues. The school will aim to equip students with inter-disciplinary training as well as skills required to tackle societal issues, the university said.
