BITSAT 2026 Preference Form Edit Window Postponed at admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in; Check Official Notice

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani has postponed the BITSAT 2026 Preference Form Edit Window for First Degree admissions. The official notice has been published on the admissions portal at admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in. Candidates awaiting the edit facility must now wait for fresh dates.

As per the notice, the revised dates for the Edit Window will be announced shortly on the official website. Candidates will also receive an email alert from BITS Pilani once the new schedule is finalised. No editing activity can take place on the portal until then.

The postponement follows the extension of the Preference Form submission deadline. The choice filling window closed at 5 PM on June 3, 2026. The Edit Window was originally scheduled to open on the same day. With the submission window itself running till the evening of June 3, the edit slot has been pushed.

BITSAT 2026 Preference Form Key Details

The Preference Form is filled by candidates who have appeared in BITSAT 2026. It is the basis for seat allotment under Iteration I. The form covers B.E., B.Pharm. and M.Sc. programmes.

Programmes Covered Under BITSAT 2026 First Degree Admissions

The Preference Form covers admission to First Degree programmes at four BITS campuses. Candidates list their preferred programme and campus combinations on the portal.

• B.E. Programmes: Over 18 specialisations across engineering streams
• B.Pharm.: Offered at select campuses
• M.Sc. Programmes: Seven streams including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biological Sciences
• Campuses: Pilani, K K Birla Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai (limited options)

Why Has the Edit Window Been Postponed?

The submission deadline for the Preference Form was extended to June 3, 2026 at 5 PM. The Edit Window was originally set to start on the same date. BITS Pilani has now revised the schedule to give candidates a fair gap between submission and editing.

The edit facility allows candidates to revise their programme and campus preferences before seat allotment begins. Without this gap, candidates submitting on the last day would lose effective edit time.

How to Check the Revised Edit Window Dates?

Candidates can track the new schedule through two official channels. Both will be updated by BITS Pilani once the dates are finalised.

1. Visit the official portal at admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in and check the latest notice section.
2. Monitor the registered email inbox for an official communication from BITS Pilani.

How to Use the Edit Window Once It Opens?

The Edit Window lets candidates update their submitted Preference Form. Edits must be saved before the revised window closes.

1. Log in to the BITSAT admission portal using application number and password.
2. Open the Preference Form section.
3. Modify the programme or campus order as required.
4. Save and submit the updated form.
5. Download the confirmation page for records.

Action Plan for Candidates

1. Keep checking admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in daily for the revised dates.
2. Check the registered email inbox and the spam folder regularly.
3. Prepare a final list of preferred programme and campus combinations in advance.
4. Note the Iteration I result date of June 15, 2026.
5. Arrange funds for the fee payment deadline of June 22, 2026.
